Aspen Miller – November 29

Buffalo Ridge 6th grade student Aspen Miller stands in front of a painting of Nellie Tayloe Ross on the second floor of the Wyoming Capitol earlier this year. Ross was born on November 29, 1876 and was the 14th Governor of Wyoming and  was the first woman to be elected governor of a U.S. state, and remains the only woman to have served as governor of Wyoming. Miller dressed up like Ross for a school project. "I like that Wyoming was the first state to have a woman for governor and was the first state to grant womens sufferage," Miller said about living in Laramie County.
