Glen Chavez – November 22

Barber Glen Chavez takes a break from working at Trujillo's Barber Shop on Randall Avenue. Chavez started cooking Thanksgiving dinner for servicemen after a customer and friend committed suicide during the holiday season in 2009. Chavez's Thanksgiving dinner has grown and feeds over 2500 people. He is collecting donations for the dinner at Trujillo's Barber Shop and still needs over 100 turkeys. "I love the culture, we make things happen," Chavez said, "if you have an idea this place lets you explore it." To take part in WTE Photo Editor Michael Smith's "Our Faces: Portraits of Laramie County" project, call 633-3124 or 630-8388 or email msmith@wyomingnews.com to make an appointment.
