Jim Darden – October 26

Jim Darden sews the horn of a saddle at his shop in Pine Bluffs. Darden met his wife, Marylyn, when they were students at West Texas State University and were married 55 years ago. Jim taught for 17 years in Pine Bluffs before he started making saddles in 1977. Darden said he likes the sparce population because it gives him elbow room to have his horses. The 77 year old will close his shop at the end of November to retire.
