Cheyenne East football player Isaac Taylor winces in pain from a twisted ankle during the Thunderbird's semi-final playoff loss to Campbell County High School last Friday night at Okie Blanchard Stadium. "I love football for the atmosphere and brotherly bond," Taylor said about playing in pain, "and I don't want to let my team down." The senior plans on going to college and playing baseball. The Wyoming state football championships start today in Laramie at Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium and will continue through Saturday. Claire Thompson, a freshman at Cheyenne’s East High, smiles after getting sprayed with mud during slack competition Thursday morning at Frontier Park. Thompson is part of a crew of local youth that help with the calves at Chute 9 during the roping events. "Frontier Days is definitely my favorite thing about living here. So many people come to visit, and I never get bored,” Thompson said.
